High Point Rules & Regulations - 2005

GENERAL RULES

The following rules apply to all divisions unless otherwise stated, check divisions.

1.   BOTH the horse owner/lessee AND rider/handler must be current members of AHAM.  Each horse must be  entered into the awards program to be eligible for year end awards.

2.   AHAM dues must be paid in full before any points will start accumulating.  All members are eligible for awards.

3.   The Horse accumulates the points (in equitation the rider).  If it is registered Arabian or Half-Arabian a copy of the registration papers must be submitted along with a yearly fee into the awards program.

4.   Only classes which have a minimum of four horses will count, including championship classes and regionals.

5.   Horse/Rider must have accumulated points in a minimum of Two  shows or Three  trail rides. Check division.

6.   Only shows in Region 16 to count towards points.

7.   Each horse and rider combination will compete and be scored separately for high point  awards.

8.   Participants must submit score sheets monthly.  Postmarked NO LATER than the tenth (10th) of the month following the event(s). (June events should be postmarked by July 10th, etc.)  Score sheets postmarked after the 10th Will Not Be Counted.

9.   The points for the year will END the THIRD SUNDAY in OCTOBER and must be received NO LATER than the FIRST of NOVEMBER!  Initial score sheets are provided. Please make copies.

10.  The awards committee reserves the right to delete, add, or combine division awards as results warrant.  Awards will be determined by participation.  Ribbons may be awarded to eighth (8th) place in each division.  The committee reserves the right to audit points and eliminate from competition anyone who submits improper results.

11.  Points will be published at the end of the season.  All corrections MUST be made in writing to the point  secretary within fourteen (14) days of issuing of these standings.  NO CHANGES will be made after the 14 day period.

12.  Juniors must wear properly fitted protective headgear at all times when mounted.  ALL RIDERS AT TRAIL RIDES ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR.
