OCTOBER 2004
Twenty three riders enjoyed a beautiful early fall day riding
the trails in Groton. Many thanks go to Gail Greenlaw who hosted the ride, to
Judy Lorimer who ran the ride, provided lunch and marked the trails with
Gail, Linda
Staehly and Randy LaShomb. And to Gordon DeWolf and Marty Guild who
manned the registration and road crossings.
The Fall Fun Show in Spencer was on the same day. There was a very good turnout, the weather was perfect and much fun was had by all. Among the many winners were Amanda and Carolyn Hill who were Champions of their respective divisions.
By the time you read this our season will be over, points will
have been collected and we will be thinking ahead to next year. The annual
meeting and awards banquet will be on January 30.My personal sad news is the
loss of my lovely mare Asia in a freak accident while riding at
Myles Standish State Forest. She was a beautiful,
gentle Arab, full of life and promise, and I will miss her for ever. I want to
thank all the other riders who were there who did everything they could to
help. They were indeed wonderful. And special thanks to my friend Marty whose
help and support keep me going.
